Android Watch from Italy

An Italian company is producing an I’m Watch, an android-based watch that connects to your iPhone, Android, or other smartphone for hands-free calling.

android watchIt also plays music, handles your text messages, plus Facebook, Twitter, and weather forecasts. The watch also connects to IMarket to load apps specifically designed for the watch. It comes with Bluetooth, a 4Gb memory card and a 1.55″ sapphire glass multi-touch curved screen.

The I’m Watch comes in White, Pink, Light Blue, Red, Yellow, Green or Black. The I’mTitanium in titanimum (obviosly), the ImJewel comes in i’m Yellow Gold, i’m Pink Gold, i’m White Gold & Diamonds, i’m Black Gold.

Prices start at 299 Euros (US$420) all the way to 9,999 Euros (US$14,058)

Kindle Fire Canadian Competitor: Kobo Vox

Toronto based Kobo Inc introduced the Kobo Vox yesterday as a direct competitor to the Kindle Fire – and it’s available in Canada!


The Kobo Vox is priced the same as the Kindle Fire at CAN$199 and Kobo expects to start shipping Oct 28 – just prior to the Kindle tablet. However unlike the Kindle, the Kobo Vox is available in Canada immediately and so should snap up Canadian consumers looking for those Kindle-like features available before Christmas.

Google Android 4.0

The newest version of the Google Android OS for both mobile phone and tablets, known as Ice Cream Sandwich, is out and available on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Android 4.0 is supposed to be the android OS that bridges the phone and tablet, adapting to one or the other easily.

The new Nexus phone will be out in US, UK and hopefully Canada in November 2011, with a 4.65” Amoled screen at 1280×720 pixels, 5 megapixel camera and 1080p video. Google claims that 550,000 Android devices are activated daily.
